An interesting detour along the road to pinks, from (Fourteen for Rachel x Pride of Haifa) X unknown.  The pollen parent was registered as "unknown" because it was obtained as "Syrian Sunset" but turned out to be mislabeled.  I became suspicious when the offspring were not at all as I'd expected, and finally found a picture of the real Syrian Sunset that confirmed what I had obtained was an imposter.  Ordinarily, I tossed seedlings whose pedigrees had come into question, but this one had such unusual coloring and pattern that I decided it was a "keeper" anyway.

The standards are a soft greyed rose, the style arms soft yellow with rose midribs and crests.   The falls are a blend of greyed rose, apricot, and rust.  The signal is a very unusual type -- a small black signal inside a large burgundy spot.  The beard is golden yellow.

Although the true identity of its pollen parent can't be determined, it has proven to be a fully-fertile OGB.

To be introduced in 2005 by Malevil Gardens.
