SOLOMON'S SHIELD (Hunt, 1987) OGB Yellow-gold standards lightly overlaid with amethyst. Ruby-black falls have a jeweled sheen with a yellow-gold rim. ((Beirut x Imam Ahmid) X (I. auranitica x (Jallah Effendi x Obi)). Proven fertile. I've seen some nice jewel-tones from it elsewhere, but so far it hasn't produced anything special for me. The falls look much like an antique shield – but who's? Gene preferred Biblical names. Who better than Solomon?
